My Bio
I have more than 5 years of user experience research in the healthcare industry working for Invetech, Resmed, and Parkview Health. My research interest is enhancing patient engagement with their health, and improving user experience and safety of medical devices. In addition to healthcare, I have experience in various research areas, such as digital information, accessibility, multimodal interaction, complex information architectures, and gaming.
I graduated with a PhD degree in Human-Computer Interaction at School of Informatics & Computing, Indiana University at IUPUI. During the PhD program, I worked closely with my advisor Dr. Davide Bolchini as a full-time research assistant. My dissertation was investigating a number of design alternatives, which had the potential to enhance quick scanning through content-rich pages when the time and contextual or physical constraints are at play. Specifically, my work focused on introducing the concept of aural flows and validated aural flows in the context of walking and driving. As part of my research, I conducted user experiments in a driving simulation lab at TASI at IUPUI.
Among other projects, I did assist Dr. Davide Bolchini in the two NSF-funded research projects. One of these research projects was studying aural navigation patterns for websites made accessible to visually-impaired users, and the other one was investigating trust-based clinical alerts in healthcare.
I received my Masters in Information Management from iSchool, Syracuse University, NY. I worked for one year under supervision of Dr. Ping Zhang on the research topic students’ use of social media for various purposes, which arouse my interest in Human Computer Interaction.
